Stil ok, but what over it’s time to drink.

Slightly browned medium-dark garnet. Somewhat strange nose of strawberries and prune juice. Very ripe and rich body that reminds me of the late 80’s Gardine CDP. Notes of prunes, overripe raspberries, a hint of wild strawberry, and a general sense of overripe dark fruit.

This was chewy viscosity. Yum. Dry black fruit. Violet and minerality. Tannins completely gone. This needs to breathe at least 45-1 hr. Yum.

Definitely past its prime. EDIT: I added the wrong wine to My Cellar and can't figure out how to delete this tasting note.

About as good as it's ever been -- truly excellent, drinking very well. Thought it might be over the hill...now wish I had more.

The nose has red fruit (cherry, raspberry) with earthiness and leather. Nice on the palate, less fruit than expected, more vanilla and cola. Finish is a bit short, but okay, some tannins.

On the nose sweet red fruit and slight fresh tobacco and herb notes over vanilla and animal scents as well as touches of cedar. A little muted on the palate; the fruit is less obvious and more sour and the vanilla more subdued and savoury. Having said that it's quite fresh and juicy served at cellar temperature...I wouldn't want it much warmer though as I suspect it will fall to bits...

Coravin fun - Spanish Lunch (My place, parramatta, sydney) : From Coravin. Muted meat and slightly sour red berry and herbaceous notes In the mouth there are flavours of red berry, spice, slight leather and flout textured tannin. Dries a little on the finish.

From Coravin. Aromas of meat over strawberry fruit, vanilla and spice. It's quite juicy on the palate, meaty and spicy flavours, smooth textured and I fine the remaining fruit is quite concentrated and rip...there is a certain clove bitterness to the finish and a tiny touch of leatheriness. still quite fresh though. Nice.

Coravin fun - around the northern hemisphere ish (My place, parramatta, sydney) : From Coravin. Dusty and meaty aromas over strawberry, vanilla and cream with touches of cedar. In the mouth the wine is again slightly musty and sour with tight chalky tannins that are leathery and chewy Hmm. Went well with the lamb but…

Rich. Sweet oak to the fore. Quite short. No appreciable tannins, just sweet, smooth juice - not very complex, but very enjoyable.

From Coravin. It is gamey and meaty on the nose supported by aromas of vanilla, red berries and cherries, leather, cream and mature toasted cedar. In the mouth the wine has gamey and meaty flavours with fine tannins…it's quite venison with ripe red berries with a toasted vanilla bean sweetness. Sounds awful but actually tastes great.

Drink it now. Garnet with aromas of aged plums and a bit of barnyard funk. In the mouth smooth with a bit cedar and graphite. No fruit present at all. 2nd day a bit of the fruit came back making it a bit more enjoyable. However I believe this has passed its peak and should be drunken now if you have any.

Servert til helstekt indrefilet av okse med fløtepoteter, asparge, grillet østerssopp og hjemmelaget rødvinssaus. Gikk godt til, men en lagret Bourdeaux eller Amarone vill nok løftet måltidet et hakk.

Good wine to pair with food. Fine fruit, nicely integrated tannins and acidity, pleasant on the palate and in the finish. Excellent price/quality relationship. This is no wine to look for very fine and elegant flavours but a well made wine though. I appreciate that the oak exposure hasn't been overdone like sometimes common in New World wines.

Not very complex, but has lots of good juicy fruit, meaty character, and still a bit young. Should be good over the next few years.

Nose of raspberries and blackberries with a little vanilla. Taste was more little light-bodied than I had remembered, but was balanced with some anise and raspberry, and a long finish. Went well with BBQ beef and garlic potatoes.

Better than expected after a 4 hour decant. Plummy nose. A palate of ripe berries with a bit of chocolate. While modern and extracted, it's not syrupy. It may not be traditional Rioja, but it's delicious and balanced. Should improve too. I wish I'd bought more at the fire sale Garagiste price. 89+

Nice nose of dark fruit (plum?), a bit of wood, floral and tobacco. Nice mouth feel - medium-full bodied, pretty soft and smooth. A hint of chocolate? Still a bit tannic, but nicely integrated for its age. Medium finish. Nice juice overall. Should improve over another couple years.

Still quite tannic, with a hint of TCA? or maybe that's just Rioja fruit.
