Good weight, fair complexity. This is a darker and bramblier wine that does not have much of an overly sweet or youthful side. And it was probably more tart not more than a couple of years ago, but that seems to have settled down. The wine itself is rather balanced, and I am really impressed with this offering. Hints of dark chocolate and cocoa towards the finish.

So I didn't realize that supplies are getting down to DANGEROUS levels of this wine. Almost certain I threw 6 of these to storage, but instead I think I happened to throw all six down the hatch! I was a little skeptical about this wine, but it has held its own NICELY. If I can hold on to the last bottle (and it's doubtful I will be able to), then it is likely to be an amazing bottle. I'll just …

WOW. What a difference six months makes. This Merlot starts off a little tart, but is INCREDIBLE how well it settles into a mature wine with dominant notes and good density, complexity and color. The wine poured a medium bodied garnet. The nose out of the bottle is chocolate with some earthy notes. The entry is chocolate, mint, earth. The middle is raspberry, bramble, and a nice cocoa note. The finish has a tiny bit of tart, but there is …

And then there was Merlot! Ah….this delightful wine must defiantly stand out as a favorite amongst the wine gods. Why, you say? Because it’s just that damn good! This is a very well balanced Merlot with a fresh chocolaty aroma on the nose that longs for you to linger in its bouquet. Before sipping, make sure you tilt the glass a bit and take notes at the wonderful violet hue. Nice, isn’t it? Now comes the best part, the sipping! …

This wine has done a great job of rounding off some sharp edges and producing a wine that is both elegant yet expressive of Texas terroir. I'm sure it would be easy to overextract a wine like this to try to get some more intense flavors and notes. But this bottle was perfect tonight. Uncorked to a small amount of bleed incorporating 20% or less of the cork. The wine was baker's chocolate and earthy black cherry. The palate was …

Nice, nice Merlot from Texas. Poured a violet hue into the glass, slightly dirty hue. On the nose is dark chocolate and a hint of bing cherry and baking spice. Sat for probably 30 minutes before enjoying. The front is ripe red cherry with moderate acidity. The middle of this wine is where it started showing some more earthy cardamom or cumin. Not an overwhelming amount, but JUST enough. There was always a hint of dark chocolate as it was …
