2011 vintage

Typical Larose-T, this is just incredible value for what it delivers: fresh, crisp cherry and blackcurrant with real elegance and not a little depth. Not out of its depth faced with other more expensive wines, it always surprises me in the best possible way.

2012 vintage

This bottle was characterized by a pleasing and gentle wood aroma. Lighter weight but overall well balanced and a pleasure alongside a simple meal.

Après un 2016 potable, la chaine débarque sur ce 2011. Mince, simple léger et aqueux. Top générique quoi! Finalement, c'est vrai que 2011 a été difficile, surtout à Bordeaux!

This bottle was the best showing of the 2011 L-T for me to date. It seems to be entering early maturity now. Great balance of fruit, acidity, and herbal complexity, even a hint of pencil shavings. Glad I have a few more. An excellent bottle.

Exceptional expression of aged Bordeaux on a budget. Yes it is a little thin and not terribly complex but there is a wonderful nose of secondary characteristics, esp cedar, tobacco and dustiness

Bought when first released. My last bottle. Nose, currants, black pepper and shoe polish. Taste: Good weight in the mouth. Cabernet fruit. Hint of cedar. Spicy tannins. Something that reminded me of a very old Ch. Montrose. Very nice to drink an old friend.

For me, this is just edging towards tarty flavours now, but it's still enjoyable. I found the fruit a little cloying, but liked the elegance and charm.

Very smooth nose, coffee, tabac. Red wild fruits: cranberry, schoco. Smooth tannins, low acidity, lovely to drink, positively surprised!

Enjoyed with dinner with no precise notes written. Classic left bank with still firm tannins and an abundance of acidity and energy. Leaning into the red fruit profile, I enjoyed this wine greatly, especially considering the price. Decant or hold through 2026.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like coffee and burnt. It tastes like forest floor. The body is full. The wine has coarse texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Deep dark red colour, with red fruit bouquet showing its presence on the nose. Subdued oak, well integrated with dark red fruit, produced an elegant, complex, wine making a good partner for roast lamb. Very good after six years, probably better after 10.

Glossy medium ruby, medium+ opacity. Fresh black berries, raspberry, cola, and crème brûlée. Medium body with well integrated tannins and soft acidity. Slightly sweet red fruits on the palate. Medium finish with mocha and crushed fruit notes.

This follows the house style, and fits between 2010 and 2011 in weight and substance. On day three it was showing best. I expect it will benefit from 2-3 more years of cellaring.

Oh my, this was nice - especially the second half of the bottle. The tannins are well resolved now. Very enjoyable, even without food. On the edge of excellence. 89+

Only a short decant required for the oak presence to subside and the fruit to emerge fully. Very nice now but still a bit tannic on the finish.

A bit too much oak on opening, beginning to integrate after a couple hours of air. On day two there was no overt oak but the red fruit core remained. Light to medium body, good acidity, modest tannins, nice finish. I think this may continue to improve.

Grabbed a handful of 375ml Bdx from the not terribly discerning but close shop. This was most expensive at $12 and yet also most simple, although it's filling out a little as it's been open a little while. Medium ruby color. Aromas of dark and dark red fruits, along with graphite and coffee with a little air. Medium(+) body, acid, and finish and flavors following through. 86 on the pop, but more like 87 in my final sips.

Dark colour and ripe fruit on the nose, black cherries and earthy tones. excellent concentration. Very plush flavours of ripe dark berry fruit, followed by oak and a touch of acid to tease before the tannins rest on your tongue. Long finish, excellent balance and mouth feel.

Aromatic, black currant, vanilla and cocoa nose. Rich, blackfruit flavours, textural and spiced palate. Balanced tannin and acidity, long finish with very good replays. Great flavours and saturation on a lovely 13% alcohol frame. 4/5

60% Cabernet/ 40% Merlot. 13% abv. Day one, pnp. Nice cedary cabernet nose. I noticed an odd aftertaste (fruity, herbal, not sure) which was unexpected but not actually unpleasant, that didn't dissipate thru two glasses. Day two, the aftertaste was gone. The wine was very good, with cherries, black raspberries and a bit of cedar. Medium tannins, medium acidity. Consistent with recent vintages of L-T but a bit lighter bodied. Very low expectations based on the previous reviews but this was a pleasant surprise. Better than the '86 I had recently. Deep purple color to ruby/garnet rim. Complex nose of tree bark, earth, herbs, leather, mince pie, red fruit preserves. Nicely balanced on the palate with good length. Flavors echo the nose. Some soft tannins remain on the finish. Light/medium body. Altogether a smooth, harmonious and well aged claret.

Simple, easy drinking, uncomplicated quaffer, medium bodied with a fresh, soft, red berry center of fruit, with a hint of espresso.

2012 vintage

Still very young; nose started very oak-forward, very strong tannins but lots of fruit. Seems to me it will go for at least 5 years.

Much the same as last year, this is a good choice for summer drinking: bright, cheerful fruit with enough balance and complexity to keep it interesting, without the tannins which make early drinking difficult but which also ensure a longer life, something this wine clearly does not aspire to.

Rather fresh claret with cherries and cassis together with good acidity and Held-back tannins. A wine of good balance, good with food and on its own.

As usual, a good, solid performance, with typical elegance and finesse. The fruit veers from blackberry to red cherry, with a little kirsch flavour on top. It's a little thin and high-pitched, but I'm quibbling. Probably better in another year but not for the long haul.
