The first few sips were surprisingly excellent. Then…it collapsed.

Oak, plum and vanilla nose. Dry and mildly acidic. Black cherry, plum and vanilla with a hint of tobacco. Medium-mild tannins. Was better on the second day. At $16 I might just get a few more.

30 plus minute decant needed. Ripe berries, black pepper, vanilla, charred wood. Nice acidity on the end brings everything together and prevents it from being a flabby mess.

Velvet nose, of cassis and vanilla. Medium bodied, well balanced and smooth on the palate, with ripe cherries, chocolate, liquorice, menthol. Very pleasant. Drink now and over the coming 3 years.

I agree with the other reviews. Nice bottle of wine great for the price. Nice tannin which I like. Very clean. Fruit is a bit recessed at this time and I don’t see it as getting better with age. For 10 -12 bucks it’s still a very nice find. Pairing with a nice grilled steak

Seven wines from 1978 (CA and WA), and a few others... : Good cork. Thinning color at the edges. Red licorice, cherry, chickory(?) and damp earth. Starting its downhill slide. Drink up. Enjoyable, but not outstanding.

It is a nice cab that starts a little more light then heavy. Once it gets going there is a ton of bright and dark berries. It finishes with such a nice texture with a tad bit of sweetness and tart.

Medium red, with lightening at the rim. Poured through an aerator and 30 minutes in a decanter. Nice nose with red fruit, spice and a hint of something darker (blueberry?) on the finish. Very good flavors of same. Very nice mouthfeel, with fruit and spice and enough acidity to hold it together. The slightest touch of fine tannin at the start, but its gone after 1 hour in the decanter. Let's call it 88.5 points. Expect this is at its …

The wine is past it's prime. It tasted astringent.

Perhaps not a bottle intended to be aged 22 years, but it actually held up pretty well. The agin gave it some sort of wistful quality that was interesting. The fruit had become kind of like the smell of an old wood cabinet. At first, the wine seemed short, kind of dying quickly on the palette. But as it breathed, it gained some length and filled the mouth. I liked Kenwood back then as an affordable wine, and this one …

Quite good actually, especially at the price point of $11 on sale. This was tasted over 2 nights, with 1/3 being sampled the first night and the remaining 2/3 the following evening after being refrigerated. The below notes are from night two unless otherwise noted. Quite a joy that it is so textbook Sonoma Cabernet at this price point, with a lovely interplay of black currant, juicy cherry, a dash of toast and even a little herbal note mid-palate through …

By no means offensive, and food-ready. At this price, hard to complain.

For a reasonably priced bottle of Cab, this is light and lively. But it's certainly nothing special, even for the $13-20 price bracket. The nose, though rather faint, smells of ripe, fruity berries and plums. Upon first taste, the 2007 Kenwood Cab gives off hints of cherry, strawberry, and cassis and leaves a tart aftertaste. Those who enjoy zingy, fruity everyday Cabs will appreciate this wine. Personally, I prefer my Cabs, even my everyday Cabs, to be bolder and spicier.

Very interesting nose, citrus, fruity, some faint cassis. Very thin wine in regards to mouth-feel; not a lot of body to it for my liking. Again I get the citrus, some raspberry, some hints of cherry flavored Blow-Pop and a little smoke, kind of bitter though. The bitterness quickly disappears, however. Tannins are just right with this one, nice finish. Decent wine overall and I think it needs to open up a bit.
