Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Blanchot Dessous

Notes of oak, lavender, lemon. Grapefruit and vanilla on the palette. Balanced acidity and medium finish.

Forward, great depth of flavor. lemon cream pie, Orange rind, roasted pineapple, grilled bread; this wine is packed with flavor. The finish goes on for at least a minute.

It is one of those baffling places in the world of wine. You stand with your back to Le Montrachet, and in front of you is Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru. To the south (right), separated from Criots by two metres of grass land, is Blanchots Dessous - Chassagne Village. And obviously across these two metres, the price of the wine drops by a factor 5-10. lemon, pineapple on the nose; mineral, lemon on the palate

Medium yellow color. Nose of wet stones, lemon, light tropical fruit. On the palate somewhat steely, minerally and bright with lemon/citrus and somewhat nondescript tropical fruit notes. Great with a rich white fish. Fairly weighty mouth feel and medium long finish.
