This is one of my lowest scores for any wine. The wine is a huge disappoint for something of this price range. Why would anyone have released a wine like this at this price point if you feared it would have smoke taint. I found it interesting with the aromatics and smoke but after 20 minutes of sipping it I said ........... nope this should not have been sold.

Muted aromatics slight background of charred barrel and cassis. Initially in mouth the wine is large and viscous with a mouth coating creamy feel. The mid palette turns downward with drying tannin's and a slightly bitter cranberry flavor. Finish disappoints as predominant fruit is over ripened plum skin and prune. I have had a bunch of 2020 wines from the Beckstoffer Vineyard and I am not sure if the Dr Crane vineyard 20' varies much from those others. Many producers …
