Improved considerably after 3 hours. Starting to show some age, as it should near a decade old. Nose of Juicy red and black berries, vanilla, plum and cigar box. Tannins have softened considerably. Persistent acidity and nicely integrated high alcohol. Attack of sweet black plum and blackberry with tobacco evolve to a smoky, meaty black pepper filled long finish. Drinking well to 2030.

PnP. Lovely smell of red berries. Medium+ body. Dry tone at opening that disappeared after a short while. Elegant and distinct appearance with a little boldness in the background.

Bought 4b for CAD 25/b 2+ years ago from a suburban retail chain; this is #2. Cork. No decant. Dark purple; fragrant, semi-complex nose of mature red plum, some cassis, some oak; mature red fruits, somewhat rustic; good mouthfeel. Almost delicious, glad to have more. Taken as a BYO to a local upscale restaurant, had time to focus upon and discuss the wine, and enjoyed by two others with good wine experience. Better than the first bottle tried shortly after …

Always good this 2019 is fresh and juicy and quite delicious. Sweet tobacco, black cherry and cooked plums. The tannins are there but balanced with spicy oak and ripe fruit. Curious what a 10 year old version of this wine would be.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry and prune. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis), raisin, oak and vanilla. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Best Chilean wine I have had to date. On nose: cinnamon, fresh black pepper and tart strawberries. On palate: all above flavours amplified, with a ghost of cured meat, ripe cherries, figs, fresh cigar tobacco with a note of eucalyptus, and a ghost of rosemary....all displayed on a fullish- medium body with a fine balance of tannins and acidity....after a 1 hour decant...very approachable at 4 years of age. These producers display the mastery of blending NINE varietals together( Syrah …

Red and black berries mature but fresh. At opening a little closed but elegant 90p. Decanting and a bold complexity not too jammy but rather dry (alcohol) bold, full body and long finnish appeared. A fantastic full bodied syrah well made. After two hours 92-93p.

Suckling gave this a 94 and who am I to argue. Medium ruby with medium plus intensity red fruit aromas. Dry, medium plus tannin, full body and high alcohol. Red cherry, anise, coconut and a bit of earthyness lead to a medium finish. A bit of aging might add some complexity but is not necessary.

38% Syrah, 33% Carmenere, 8% Cab Sauvignon, 5% Carignan, 4% Garnacha, 4% Malbec, 3% Tempranillo, 3% Petit Verdot & 2% Mourvèdre. Decanted 45m. Cherry, cinnamon, graphite, strawberries in the summer heat, hint of eucalyptus, clove, a humidor filled with cigars. Fresh but rich & endlessly drinkable, reminds me of the last days of winter where you know spring is nearly here.

Opened this bottle on a whim for a Thursday night sipper. Straight in to the glass. Low intensity nose of moss, cherry and oak. Initial sips were hot, and this could have done with some air time. Sour cherry, strawberry, heavy oak and smoke. This opened up after about 30min and some heat dissipated. White pepper, vanilla and pencil shavings on the finish. Med bodied, mouth drying tannins, and slightly acidic. This was a bit too over-oaked for me. Decent, …

Very smooth wine with a nice floral smell along with black fruits, vanilla and green pepper. The palate was the same and after two hours of decanting it brought out more green notes. I think I prefer it right out of the bottle, drink this after 2023 and beyond

Tannique et un peu asséchant, c''est un monstre en ce moment. Gros fruit noir et eucalyptus avec du bourgeon de cassis mais plus civilisé que mes autres expériences avec ce vin. Hyper long et capiteux en finale.

I like this; there's a nice depth, structure, and intensity to this dark and spicy wine. The syrah comes through, though blended with many others. This comes off as quality wine more than I really loved drinking it, but I think it might really shine with a few more years in the cellar.

Nose was not closed out of the bottle but improved over 2 hours in a decanter. Still in the first third of its drinking window this wine is drinking well now. Nose is bold and expressive with dark fruits of plum, blackberry, cherry, cranberry and cassis as well as secondary notes of vanilla, cedar, smoked meat and chocolate. The wine is full-bodied with firm but not excessive tannins, balanced acidity and high alcohol. Flavours of plum, blackberry, black pepper and …

Inky purple and opaque with red edge. The nose is understated relative to the palate. The nose dominated by white pepper, sage, and ripe dark fruit. The mouth feel is full, with excellent acidity, and some stemy notes. The alcohol is medium plus and the finish is lingering with good complexity. An excellent value. 5+12+16+8=91

Quite intense, ripe and heady on the nose, a touch of VA; sweet and intense coulis-liquor on the palate. A touch of chocolate oak and spice. I'm sure this could seduce but you have to like the style. Not subtle. One small glass only please.

Really enjoyed this wine. While I try to learn more about "red blends" there is often this wonderful velvet like body & mouth feel. This is right in that wheel house. Dark fruit, some blackberry and dark cherry. Notes of vanilla and some depth of oak

Certified organic, Banfi-owned. An eclectic blend of mainly Syrah (44%), Carmenère (30%) and Cabernet-Sauvignon (12%), with 13 months in (80%) French and (20%) American oak, 14.5% ABV. Soft and sweet. Sweet fruit, sweet oak, sweet tannins and a very sweet and spicy 94 score from James Suckling. But I guess that in his parlance this score merely means “relatively drinkable” nowadays. Such a shame that he told nobody that he is now rating wine on a flexible scale of at …
