Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Sauvignon Blanc Poggio alle Gazze Toscana IGT

This was lovely. I've been turned off by a lot of new world SB recently, but I really enjoyed this style.

Don't know what triggered the symptoms exactly but had allergic reactions drinking the wine this time.

Unsure of the vintage but this was a fine, and interesting wine.

Young and a bit too obvious and in a way carried more by the name rather than carrying the name. Good bright Sauvignon Blanc aromatics in almost new world level and a bit lacking depth o the palate. Careful with cost too. 89 at best

1 year in French barrique, 53% Sauvignon Blanc with the remainder consisting of a blend Nose shows aromatic ripening stone fruit and some fresh herbs. Body is light, acidity is high. Pallet starts with a citrus zing combine with slightly under white peach. The finishes, crispy, medium in length. 89-90pts

Tuscany Wine Tasting Trip: Chianti and Bolgheri; 8/13/2024-8/14/2024 (Tuscany) : Tasted at the winery. This was the second wine created at Ornellaia. Grapefruit, pink flower (not rose), spring peas, light soil. Color is rather light. 53% Sauvignon Blanc. High acidity with some white peaches on the palate. 86 points.
