Super closed upon opening and cork broke in half. No bouquet either. Deep color. Took an hour of air for fruit to emerge and was abundant. This was a nice elegant wine that became more fruit forward with air. Fruit profile was black fruits like plum and blackberry, and was not a bright wine from acid, but it was in a nice place and ready. I also think it has more life in it but no more than 5 years.

Dark purple, medium body, not many signs of age, dark cherries and baking spice, good acidity, plenty of time ahead

PnP. Sweet cherry and red berry fruit, pie spice, some forest floor and loam. Beautiful perfumed nose. Similar flavors on the palate, but there's a lot of alcohol warmth (label says 14.1%) and a weird astringency in the finish which is distracting and masks the fruit a bit. The nose is amazing, but the alcohol heat on the palate and the astringent finish kick in and leave me feeling like I'm drinking two different wines. This is my only bottle, …

Solid wine, just didnt hit the right notes for me. Seems to have the legs to go for a few more years. Enjoyed more on pop and pour, after some air it got a bit more tart than I like. Wife said she got black pepper but I wasn't seeing. Nice red fruits, still red, not browning much.

Pretty big and lush with black cherry, pomegranate, cola. To me, this is quite enjoyable and has a bit of game and camp fire on the mid palate. This bottling seems a sight departure from the more restrained house style, but it’s a departure I really enjoy.

Great at 10 years past vintage. A typical Ribbon Ridge Patty Green wine. Nose consistent with palate. At least 2 more years of great drinking, but why wait?

Agree with Larsth. Having recently drunk the 2016 Estate Ribbon Ridge, i.e., not "Old Vine," I have to say, this Old Vine Ribbon Ridge has livelier acids, which makes the difference, in terms of overall enjoyment.

Oregon tasting @ Lars : Very nice delicious fuller PN style with a fine balance and mineral backbone. Well-crafted and approachable now although it will probatly improve with more age.

100% Pinot Noir from the five oldest blocks in the PGC Estate vineyard planted to Pommard clone in between 1984 and 1997 (the remaining thirteen blocks that are planted after 1997 go to the non-Old Vine bottling). The grapes were anything from fully destemmed to 50% whole bunches, depending on the block. 14,1% alcohol. Total production 851 cases. Youthful, luminous and moderately translucent black cherry color with a still slightly blueish hue. The nose feels fragrant, ripe and moderately dark-toned …

Xmas eve wine. Quite meaty and smokey. Initially, Sonja didn't like this. A little air and time to open softened it a bit. One of few actual Patty Green-produced bottles we still have.

Simply yummy. Opened an hour early and let it warm a bit from cellar. Notwithstanding Jim’s orientation towards these a bit older, I found this to be ….. simply yummy. Tons of fruit yet mellowing a bit. Pure pinot which I love. I have little doubt that it will improve a bit from here (I still have some 2012s in cellar which are terrific). But then again, don’t refrain if you have the urge.

A fine wine, a good value. Opens with nose of dark fruits, dark cherry. Palate matches adds rich cassis, faint minerality. Wine has distinct barnyard notes that fade as wine opens up. Still fleshy and silky as noted below. Long full finish.

Interesting to note that Jim Anderson, head winemaker and owner of PGC publishes a drinkability chart on the winery website with periodic updates. He has just moved most of the 2012 vineyard designates from “hold” to “ hold or drink”. Hence, these should be in a sweet spot for the next few years according to the winery. Not sure how the drinking windows get set on this site but I am finding many of these wines drinking beautifully while retaining …

This is lovely and absolutely singing right now. Not in any danger of falling off anytime soon. PnP. Immediately pleasing, and developed further character with air. Youthful looking medium to dark ruby. The nose is charming with damp underbrush, some florals, an undercurrent of still ripe fruit. With more air, getting mushroom. Palate is just shy of medium in body, very nice juicy and refreshing character to the fruit; more floral notes and potpourri. Hard to pin down what type …

This was decanted for an hour or two before tasting and enjoying with Sous Vide Strip steaks finished in a pan with butter, rosemary and garlic. Beautiful pairing. The wine has a nice lustrous medium ruby-crimson color. The nose is red fruited, floral and baking spice infused. Palate has nice acidity, some round aspects to the mouth fell and is quite easy to drink. An excellent “food wine” by any measure. Finish is moderately long with layers of fruit ranging …

The site has vines dating back to 1984 and is composed of a mix of Pinot Noir clones. All of the wine selected to make this wine comes from vines planted between 1984-1990. We believe that this wine shows a rich, refined and elegant example of the style this vineyard, soil type and AVA are capable of producing.” Transparent …

Deep red. Nose was expressive but the palate was a bit muted for the first 30 minutes. Really hit its stride around 60 minutes. Dark, ripe cherry and boysenberry with medium plus acid and integrated tannins adding some spice. Very enjoyable. Plenty of life left for these.

Splash decanted, followed over several hours. Earthy nose, mushrooms. On the palate still earthy, with deep red fruit, nice density of flavor, finishing with almost a candied cherry. I liked this best with air, at a cooler temp to keep a more focused profile. Good now, room for improvement.

Stones, minerals, earth, even charcoal on the nose and quite dark red in colour. Very savoury black cherry on the mid-palette and huge swathes of earth, iron and minerality show in quite a long a complex finish. There is just enough acidity to keep this wine on the right side of freshness. Overall a very decent effort that is worth seeking out. Bottled under Diam 30 and tasted in Conterno Sensory. Ideally enjoy it with food as 14.1% ABV.

Tasted over 2 days after 4 hours in decanter in a Grassl Cru glass. Rich darker burgundy color in the glass. Dark Cherry, strawberry and hints of pomegranate, and some earth on the nose. The palate leads with rich dark cherry and coffee and then followed by the lighter strawberry notes with hints of pomegranate. Nice rich mouthfeel throughout. No noticeable oak with the med finish. The layers of fruit, earth, and tannin play nicely in this wine. 14.1% ABV. …

Diam10. Dark ruby-violet. Nose: buttered popcorn at first, then an earthy note and a dark fruit garrigue note. Palate: a mineral core. Some dark fruits. Sappy. Again, was a little tight on the pop 'n pour, but really fleshed out more and more up until the time my wife and I polished off the bottle a few hours later. Still seems young and somewhat primary but is a real pleasure to drink. Middle-of-the-road style, medium-bodied, pure fruit, balanced. I have one bottle left and will hold for 2+ years at least.

Diam10 cork. 13.4% abv. Light violet with some transparency, some legs. Nose an herbal tinge, grapey, a lifted note. Palate light bodied yet a satisfying weight overall, black fruited but with a cranberry flavor, a mineral note towards the finish. Nice and still young I think. 91 pts. Good with burger and fries.

An interesting contrast to the 2014 Gevry-Chambertin that I had in my glass previous to this. A light ruby color, clear and sound. Medium intensity nose of bright floral and spice potpourri, cinnamon, red apple, and raspberry jam. Certainly more power and heat with a good character of its own, but the Burg still won out on elegance, complexity, mystery, and magic :) 5+11+15+8= 89

Patricia Green in the Oregon Willamette Valley is a hidden boutique gem of a winery. In my humble opinion, it is not just a small diamond, it is one that is a few carats short of the Hope Diamond. Having said that, this Pinot from the Chehalem Mountains is delicious. The fruit character is dominated by the 777 Clone with its small berries and high skin to berry ratio typical of this clone. Hence, the wine has succulent black cherry, …

Followed for two days open with little change in the character. Light ruby color, clear and sediment-free. Medium intensity nose of damp mulch, cherry pie, and light florals.
