Antichi Vigneti di Cantalupo Ghemme Anno Primo

Popped open, left in bottle for an hour. Tasty sour cherry, earth, tar ish flavor, ever so mild hints of herb. A bit of Brett? Good acidity with just hints of tannin that kind of road a bell shaped curve. I agree the biggest attracting aspect of this wine was the mid pallet. not sure if that’s a result of the vintage or not. Still, it was enjoyable. Pretty decent weeknight Nebbiolo.

PnP. Medium garnet, some slight clearing at the rim. The nose is quite chalky at first, with dark cherry fruit of some purity, then some licorice and forest floor. Medium + body. Tannins are still firm, with some waxyness. Needs a bit more fruit presence in the midpalate. This isn't giving a lot right now. Decant or hold.
