Peach Farm. Based on other wines and vintages of theirs, this was simpler than I expected and had more "New World" sweetness. Nonetheless, certainly a well-made wine, and was I think better in the next few days

Pretty feminine wine. Definitely cool climate. Could have been mistaken for the real deal, but it is also pricey..

Ripe, very fine. Some Burgundian richness. Lovely.

58th TWIGS meeting (I & H's Place) : Screwcap. 14% alc. Served blind. Dark garnet. Smells fruit sweet. Dark berry fruits, charcuterie and a hint of chocolate. The palate is fruit driven. It’s full of sweet, dark fruit with fleshy tannins. It’s dense, has lovely mouth texture and it’s seamless. So easy to drink.

Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern) : Again, red currant, perhaps too smoky at this end of the hall. With time (and me moving away from this part of the room) it shows some jubey black berry with more of the same on the palate. Nice.

Agree with many of the comments but in addition found an edge of chalkiness.

Enjoyed with prime ribeye at Redcliff Cafe Te Anau, NZ. Powerful Pinot Noir yet graceful. Strong fruit on the nose (cherry, plum) and tingly hints of the tannins that await. Fruit forward presentation but backed by complexity (which includes cinnamon!) but the tannins are the star. Shockingly well integrated and elegant for a 2016 vintage. Among the finest pinot noir I’ve tasted. 94++

Central Otago Pinot Noir (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : red tending to black fruit (cherry), chocolate, cedar and quite a floral top note. N the mouth the wine is lightly juicy, silky but drying tannins tend to knock the fruit about a bit but all carries long. Good but not for me.

Taste Magazine Apr/15 (Taste Magazine, Auckland City) : m+ depth ruby. nose shows dark berries, spicy herbals, violet perfume. good density, sweet savoury, m+ acidity, fine grained tannins. medium finish. as Valli gibbston valley vineyard impressed me by its super intensity and power, this one is surprisingly moderate, showing elegance side and nicely balanced. Alc 13.8%, TA 8.1 g/L, pH 3.35. RC 19.0- Ap: 5/5; Ar: 12/15; Palate: 17/20; overall: 3+3/10 TOTAL: 90+/100
