Domaine Hudelot-Baillet Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc

Fairly humble complexity here per the appellation, but more interesting than expected and the drinkability is sky high. Shows a mix of citrus and nuttiness, along with a judicious dollop of butter and cream underneath. Balance is all there, ever so slightly on the rich and full side, with good medium acidity to balance it’s richness. One to drink over the next few years I’d think.

Crabby Party (Pine Close) : Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon, stony mineraity, slight oily butter and mild yellow flowers. Youthful. On the plate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, stony minerality, salty butter. Long finish. Very good quality. Lemon, apricot, and and butter on the palate with refreshing acidity. This is not a big, fruity wine, but lovely, elegant, and charming.
