2nd of 2 bottles, last consumed 4 yrs ago. Shows notes of raspberry, tart red cherry, and rhubarb flavors, alongside faint anise and cedar chips, with finely grained tannins and gorgeously refreshing acidity. Drink through 2024 or so.

Reminiscent of the style of Domaine de la Cote. Still fresh. Strawberries, smoke, tart cherries. Tannins are a soft suede. Acid is bright and refreshing.

Enjoyed while fishing at Lake Barkley with my dear friend TKM. This wine was consumed from plastic cups and just enjoyed. Bright red cherry and strawberry fruit, with a little tire rubber and cooking spices, leading into nicely balanced acidity with good verve, and a tart and lip-smacking finish. Quite good.

Fruit punch, spices, long finish. Opened up a bit. Light for CA, lacks the layers of oak common in CA, and enjoyable.

Fruit was way too overblown causing the wine to be unbalanced.

Excellent. Needed 30 - 60 mins in the decanter for the fruit to come together and support the spice on the back end. Beautiful wine.

Great nose of funk, dark fruit, earth and a baked fruit quality. Full bodied of dark pie fruits, minerals and spice but with a balanced elegance. Only 13.5% alcohol, but drinks a bit hotter though not out of balance. Very enjoyable.

Decadent nose after a pop & pour. Impeccably balanced and ethereal on the tongue with no hard edges.

Light ruby color, nose of gun flint, cherries and distant spices. Palette is all earth, earth, earth! With a long finish splashing with spice and smooth tannins. Very well integrated and balanced. Tasting nicely now butch the fruit and tannins suggest longer aging potential.

Loved this wine! After enjoying some of the other Sandhills wines, especially the Chardonnays, I was really pleased with the profile and quality of this Pinot. Beautiful floral nose with tart red fruit initially but mutes with evident baking spice as well as gorgeous earthiness throughout. I think the combination of earth and cherries with the mineral element is a great expression of this vineyard and wine. Definitely has the bones to age over a number of years.

medium, light red. Very pure red cherry nose. Delicious cherry flavours and a very dry finish. Lots of acid. Needs time. At this point the wine seems like a young Morgon.

Sour cherries dominate the palate with raspberry undertones and baking spice. Tasty, but almost too tart to wallow around in right now especially side by side with the very-open Neely Picnic Block --needs another year or two.

Last week, I wrote about the Sandhi Sandford & Benedict Chardonnay 2010, which was, admittedly, a bit of a let down. So glad to have the opportunity to taste the Santa Rita Hills Rinconada Pinot Noir at Pebble Beach Food & Wine yesterday, because it’s an extraordinarily pretty wine. Intoxicating aromas of rose petals, sun-warmed raspberries in a woodland thicket, sandalwood and Indian spices. Poised and elegant, and also well-balanced—thanks in part to the efforts of Rajat Parr. 13.5% ABV …

IPOB in SF 3/16 - Quick Impressions : Notes of menthol, black cherry, fig and savory spice. Rich on the palate with added rocky minerality and floral notes. Silky. Full finish. Excellent.

World of Pinot Noir Grand Tasting (Bacara - Goleta CA) : Tasting, brief note. Lots of perfume and spice (lots of whole cluster?) followed by lush fruit that comes across as easy and forward, but finishes with some elongating structure. Certainly good, probably better in a year or three. My favorite of the four wines from Sandhi tasted.

750ml; PnP; mostly opaque crimson color, seemingly light in texture; aromas of fresh sour cherries, rasberry, very slight woodiness; Flavors of bright sour cherries, rasberry background, green apple sourness, moderately prominent very fine tannins, slight woodiness, slight baking spices. Texture is a bit thin and not much that lingers long on the palate. Wait one year and try again.
