Fresh and fruity cabernet franc with notes of cherry, licorice, dark, aromatic flowers and a typical mineral touch. Lightbodied and with noticeable but kind tannins, this is a charming wine with plenty of terroir. 87-88.

Cette fois, peu de pyrazine en bouche. C'est de la belle cerise croquante, un côté nature mais sans brette et un tout petit peu d'amertume et de poivre. Frais, croquant, vif et bon. joli vin de soif. Bon RQP.

I agree with Diogenes' tasting note which was similar to my experience. Bell pepper and black currant on the nose and the also the palate. Smooth for a Cab Franc with dusty tannins on the finish suggesting that this may still be young and a bit on the tight side. Wait another year?

Brève note: bon petit cab franc, du fruit et une bonne dose de verdeur (poivron). Bon RQP. À revoir à la prochaine.

(2/17/20) This young, 100% cab franc was deep ruby in appearance (much darker than expected) and showed a lot of glycerin in the glass. The nose was dense with very ripe fruit and showed, as one might expect, a fair amount of pyrazines. On the palate, the wine was fleshy for a cab franc, courtesy of all that glycerin and the ripeness of the fruit, I guess. Its medium-plus, nervy acidity, however, was equal to the fruit, and with some …

Been wanting to try Chinon for a while and this is my first one. This bottle at least is more immediate and accessible than I expected. Pnp is light, juicy, and fruity in a cooler almost underripe way. Obviously a cool climate red. Varietal character emerges more with air, sweet red and yellow bell pepper especially, but not especially vegetal. M acid bordering on M+, light in body and tannin. Low alcohol obviously. This is nice and so so easy …

Very nice, a simple but well made Chinon. Very young and purply, but not closed. I'm not personally a huge fan of pyrazines (bell pepper notes) in my reds, and they're here in spades, but they aren't totally overpowering the fruit. The fruit is a mix of berries; mildly sweet blackberries for sure, maybe something brighter like strawberry on the surprisingly long and fairly acidic finish. For sure needs to be paired with simple meat dishes, although not undrinkable on …

Tasting, brief note. Black currant, sweet spice, green bell pepper aromas combined nicely together. Palate is more rugged and almost backward with the same fruit, just a firm middle and finish.

Clear, medium intensity, purple color. Youthful, almost primary, nose showing school book Cab Franc notes of black currant bush, dark plum, green bell pepper, grass and dusty gravel road. Very approachable with truckloads of juicy black fruit, gravel and herbaceous notes. Really vibrant acidity. Not much tannins to speak of. Mid-weight. Sure, this wine lacks complexity, depth and intensity to reach higher scores but it’s so tasty and easy-drinking and goes so well with a lot of different foods. I …

The nose is fragrant and balanced with tones of cherries, herbs, cranberries, celery root, some chalk notes, violets, and roses. This is nice and fresh, but lacking depth. The Medium bodied feel is balanced, but slightly lacking on the mid-palate with crisp, medium+ acidity and slightly coarse, medium+ tannins. This is a nice and straightforward Chinon. It shows off all the classic hallmarks of the grape and at a solid price.
