Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Franc DCV6 Estate

Dark purple. Soft, dark fruit and leather nose. Medium bodied, pomegranates, crushed cherries, white pepper, well integrated tannins, sappy blueberries, and a long finish. Lots of fruit here.

PnP 20 minutes before drinking. Fruit driven nose and palate, cherry and strawberry, a hint of earthiness. Still seems atypical for a zin, tannins mild, fairly acid, lovely fresh fruit. A year of age has done this wine a world of good!

PnP, decant would no doubt have helped. Subtle nose of tart plum and cherry, some blackberry. Palate is all about the acid rather than tannin - fresh bright plum and berry fruit. We drank a glass each and put it back in the cellar, hoping the nose will open up with a little air. Update, after 48 hours open (at cellar temp with vacu-vin). Nose is much more pronounced, adding some spicy or garrigue-y notes. Tannin is oddly more present …

Spicy and zesty zin, fruit-forward with tart black berries and a dusty dry finish. Had cork leakage but wine was intact.
