Never been much of a Chianti fan, but this stuff was actually palatable. Got as gift from AMA waterways trip. It was good enough for me to consider a chianti again.

Medium ruby-garnet. Reticent/light on the nose (slightly macerated plums?) with hints of earth and maybe leather. Taste is dry, medium (-) acidity, medium (+) tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity. Primary dark/dry currant fruits and dark plum flavors with mild herbs and medium (-) finish. Earthy with dusty tannin and moderate length. Pretty one-noted with a very shy nose. Solid CC which might benefit from a few more years, Good ~ 86 – 88 pts.

Noe lukket nese. GOD VIN !!

A bit rustic, juvenile and impressive value for 9 Euros! Needs 4-5 hours aeration. Improves on day three and four. Has aromas of earth, schisty chalk, hay, blackberries, licorice, raspberries and cherries. Its medium bodied minerally black and blue fruits, spherical and layered palate has a punchy and freshly fruited middle. Ends longish with some lovely non agressive layered and fresh tannin. A food wine par excellence. 13.5%. Lay down 3-5 years.

Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 03/08/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : "Sangiovese & other varietals" grown in schist & sandstone marl soils @ an elev of 1,150–1,800 ft; Typically, "Fermentation is carried out on the skins for about 7-10 days, depending on the results of analysis, at a controlled temperature of 75.2°-78.8° F, & in reducing conditions with micro-oxygenation. Charleston Food & Wine Festival; 3/7/2019-3/10/2019 (Charleston, SC (various locations)) : This is a table wine (like most chiantis). It's got some fruit - some red and some black (the later surprising me a bit). Decent tannins. Some freshness. Didn't feel like it should be at a $250 tasting.

Kalfskotelet van de grill met Chianti Classico. Zo moet het zijn. In de neus leer, viool, kers en teer. Bam. Diefstal. Puike Chianti Classico.

Ripe black cherries and red flowers with cinnamon, some brie and toasted licorice on the nose. Fresh and inviting aroma. Quite an open and elegant structure for such a young wine, there are ripe fruits, sweet spices, lots of fresh acidity and some chalky tannins for now. All the necessary ingredients are there to be a good Chianti, it just needs more time for the elements to melt together. Decanting it would make the palate smoother and finish richer but …

Cherry, underbrush, licorice, vanilla. Medium complexity. medium body with prominent acidity and pretty noticeable tannins Middle of the road Chianti now. But might have the properties to develop. Is this the same as Lamole di Lamole blue label? In that case it’s highly overrated by wine spectator.

Beautiful and expressive. Aromas of olive, rosemary and plum reveal a quintessential Tuscan sense of place. On the palate, tart dark cherry and leather. Great lift on the finish with a backbone of minerality. Drink over the next few years.

Prezzo eccellente (8,5 euro).

Colore rosso rubino scarico. Buona lunghezza. Rustico e piacevole

Thought this was a fantastic QPR at $17. Very enjoyable, easy drinking Chianti. Medium body, low acidity and short to medium finish. Great to pair with any lighter tomato based pasta dish. Would buy again.

Given price, is a very good bargain The wine looks ruby colored. It smells like strawberry and black currant (cassis). It tastes like light toast and oak. The body is light/medium. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity. Clearly ready

Anteprima Chianti Classico 2013 & Toscana IGT (50 TN inside!!) (Firenze (Italy) - Stazione Lepolda) : Some Canaiolo and Colorino for this "traditional" Chianti and just big barrels. Full purple red. Nice nose, mainly fruit, a bit closed. Coherent fruity at taste, a bit of rough tannins, but enjoyable.
