Gorgeous deep purple-rose color. Absolutely scrumptious blueberry juice on the nose with a mint of raspberry. A bit unbalanced with notes of red and black fruits.

Unfortunately, once again, I get “fooled” by the “drink ending” date by the community. IMHO, this wine appears to still be in development: deep ruby (almost purple), fresh aromatics, medium alcohol, and concentrated flavors. Cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, black plum, mulchy moist earth, bell pepper, celery, chocolate, and tobacco leaf round out the profile. Tart acidity and grainy tannins are still looking for some footing. Just now starting to hit stride. Can drink now, decanting recommended, but this has …

Dark garnet with purple hue. Nose of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and graphite. Vibrant palate of blackberry, plum, cassis, licorice, and minerals. Excellent length. Lively acidity. Youthful tannins. Silky texture. Nice balance. Loved this!

Aging nicely. Medium fruit, complex nose. Wine of the night against some stiff competition.

Very good wine. Came out with a great nose of fruit. Decanted and drank over a two hour period. The whole experience was good as the wine started well and finished well.

This is a wonderful complex wine that still needs time in the bottle to realize is full potential. Medium to full bodied. Oak on the nose. Short finish.

This wine was a real treat and it's got years of greatness ahead of it. Popped and poured this and it initially was all about pencil lead and some cedar on the nose. It fleshed out over time with more red and black fruit coming to the forefront, supported by some tobacco and cassis. This is a medium weight wine with a very long, smooth finish. Tannins are fine and relatively sweet and has good balanced acidity. I was really …

Dark ruby. Great aroma - rustic. Opened slow over two hours. Full bodied. Will smooth out over the next few years. I've never had a wine that was consistently this good.

Lamb Roast At The Lawrence House (Palo Alto, CA) : Stag's leap cab all the way; Big nose, assertive in front, nuanced towards the back, finishes well, lingers for days. This the kind of wine I want on a cold night in August in San Francisco when I might go up the hill to Rue St. Jacques for a nice pot of cassoulet.

Found this to be a very nice cab after allowing to decant for 30min - slight heat at first but then changing to a silky texture on the tongue. Aromas of plum.

Full bodied, dark ruby with crimson edges. Typical Stag's Leap character and flavor profile; very classy and elegant, obviously comes from a long pedigree. After a 90 minute decant, the wine shows perfumed aromas of violets, vanilla, black currant and sweet dark berries. Still primary, lush black fruit flavors at this stage with firm sweet tannins, I would expect this will develop for at least another 10 years. Surprisingly approachable and balanced for a relatively young Cab, but decanting highly …

Yikes! This wine really cost that much? it was nice, fairly fruit forward for a napa cab with mild oak but there is better value out there.

Decanted for 1.5+ hours. Notes of lush red and black fruits, earth, and hickory on the nose. Flavor was a deep cherry and spices, with good tannins, and a definite sense of terroir. Fruit is obviously high quality, and nowhere near as sweet and slick as their Persistence wine (in a good way). A great wine that would have really shone if we hadn't also been consuming a 2007 Quilceda Creek Cab alongside. Hard to compete with that, though, and …

Tasted at the winery. Does not hold up compared to the 2004 and 2005. 2006 was a great year, but the estate Cab is just as good for half the price. What I remember of the reserve was an overly shy Napa Cab, that seems to have been picked early and is a little shy. I remember reading that some vintners picked their 2006 grapes earlier than they should have and some let them hang a little longer, hence the …

A clear dark purple, and on opening and decanting a very nice nose of rich bluberries and cassis right off...and that tended to hold over the course of several hours. This was all about the fruit and as the nose...it was dark berries high lighted by blues and that strong cassis personality. Medium tannic structure and the even fruit grip that had a medium firm finish that made you want another sip. Very enjoyable with charcoal grilled NY strip steaks.
