Domaine Chandon Pinot Noir Winemaker's Barrel Select Napa Premiere Lot No.169

Definitely a Carneros Pinot on the nose, with some nice raspberry, spice, and cola notes. Strong raspberry and cherry flavors on the palate. There's too much alcohol (14.7%, according to the bottle) on both the nose and on the finish. This had the beautiful notes of a $100 bottle of wine with the harshness of a $5 bottle. I tried to decant, hoping it would mellow things out. It did, but not enough. Disappointing.
