If you're looking for long-established, textbook Niagara Riesling, you don't have to look any further than Cave Spring, one of the region's best producers. And this dry version is fine, if somewhat disappointing. Cave Spring Rieslings are among are favorites. This particular bottle of their "dry" riesling lacked the body and finish that we've become accustomed to, however. Some grass, wet stone and citrus hints on the nose. Acid up front, but not the usual tart citrus that's been present with previous vintages and virtually no finish.

Clear, pale straw in color, melon and wet stone on the nose and red apple, apricot and peach with only a slight hint of citrus. This "dry" riesling is coming across much smoother and with less tartness than previous 2011 dry Cave Spring rieslings that we've tried this summer.

this is an intense wine with explosive mix of grapefruit, minerals, and solid body. Has a very New Zealand sauvignon blanc approach but with riesling structure. A favorite.

UWS; A mixed set of wines (@ JB) : In the bouquet apple and putty. On the palate yellow apples and a touch of petrol.
