Grey Wolf Cellars Barton Family Reserve

Definitely past it's prime.However, I would guess that this wine was good, not great even when aged to perfection. the texture was thin and a bit watery. The flavor was not bad, but a bit light. There were nice notes of blackberry, pepper and dark cherry...just not enough of them.

This was an okay wine, certanly not a great one. The color was not what I expect from a zin. It appeared thin. That quality went throught to the taste. You could tell you were drinking a zin, but it was flat in the finish and didn't have much backbone at all. It reminded me of a watered down tawny port. Think I should have drunk this a lot sooner.
