Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Saint-Véran

Sweet honeydew start, round oaky mouthfeel, finishes with a satisfying almost citrus zing. More a see-saw between body and acid than "balanced," but both sides of the half are here.

wet stones, pineapple, meal, touch of bread - gorgeous , developed chardonnay fruit nose. on the palate, good balance, certainly in maturity, smooth texture with bright acid balance. Good sense of layering and excellent length. This is a food friendly wine that has clarity and interest. I may be mean giving it less than 90 here... Really fine white burgundy at a bargain price. Last bottle of four purchased - all brought great pleasure at the dinner table.

This is a good wine. Pale gold/brass color. Good mouthfeel, subtle nose with a hint of citrus, grapefruit predominant. Tartness in the mid palate, perhaps a little more than perfection. Nicely pairs with cheese. Smooth finish. This is one heck of a QPR wine. The wife, alas, did not like as much as I did. Interesting that the best of the subtle attractiveness kind of evaporated with time as this bottle opened up. Screw top.

Very soft mouth feel and smooth, unoaked, clean. Seems ready to drink to me. For $15, better than any Cali chard I've had to date by a long shot.

Excellent St. Veran. Bracing structure - hazelnuts and meal. A texture and structure that is driven by the acid. Excellent fruit weight and density. This could use a couple of years...

Fabulous St. Veran. Ripe chardonnay fruit - tarte tatin aroma and flavours.

This is an excellent wine. Opulent un-oaked chardonnay fruit - clean as a whistle, long and rich. Verging on caramalised apples. Stewed peaches. This is the finest St. Veran I have drunk. Outstanding wine. Drink now - 3 years.
