Two tastings over 3 days. Both enjoyable. This TN is after 2 days pumped and chilled.Cherries and plums on the nose with hints of earth or cedar. On the palate the fruits are similar but w more bramble, nice jammyness. More earth and cedar and lovely smooth tannins providing a long finish. Love it ! Makes me contemplate why I don’t buy more CF as it is nearly always enjoyable and so rarely disappointing while i can’t say that abt …

Really enjoyed this wine. Full bodied and smooth. No green pepper notes that can detract from a Cab Franc. Minimal signs of ageing so this wine might last at peak through the suggested 2022 drinking window. I have enjoyed all of the wines that I have purchased from Burrowing Owl and need to get more in my cellar.

Last bottle two years ago. Noted then that the wine was still tight. This bottle was much more open. Still very dark, almost black with no signs of age. Still a big wine and a bit tight. Lots of fruit with some green notes. Went well with grilled rack of lamb. This wine would still benefit from some time in the decanter and I don't think there is a big rush to drink up. The 2022 drinking window is reasonable …

1/2 price Wine Tuesday at Cactus club. Delicious elegant balanced and lingering. Truly varietal with herbaceousness adding complexity rather than overwhelming.

Garnet colour; some bricking. Past peak, but some savoury dark red fruit still showing. Suspect a lot of cedary oak has been shed. Plush texture. Drink up

Initial impression was not great. Vacuumed and waited several days. Much improved with great fruit and a long finish. Prepare for a long decant if drinking now or wait a year or two given the drinking window to 2022.

nez de cerise, gros fruits, réglisse, origan, acidité assez présente, pas de tannin. aurait peut-être profiter d'être carafé, bon vin!

Six Nations 2016 : Ash, tar, sweet red berries and spice. Light bodied palate, not all that much depth but a line of spice gives it a little interest. Pretty good.

Six nations tasting (49 King Street Wharf) : pencil shavings and spice, cedar, red berry fruit and cream but the palate is far from as enjoyable or stimulating as the nose unfortunately

BC (Canada) retrospective (Sharon & Guy's) : Clear with some maturity showing - bricking edge. Clean and very classic CF nose with soft fruit and moderate finish. Moderate acid, alcohol, body and tannin. Pretty tasty and at or just past it's peak. Well made and well balanced.

Nice vegetal aspects on the nose with some smoke and cherry as well. Definite smoke, vanilla, some dark berries and cranberry on the palate. A little short on the finish for the pedigree of the vineyard, but overall a good effort.
