We get some Cab Franc here with gritty little tannins, a touch of green pepper and a bit of metallic cranberry. Dark purple color. Not as full bodied as expected. Sharp acidic red raspberry and cherry. A but if mineral. Not as expressive as we hoped, but still pretty good.

This is a solid cab franc, complete with dark berry fruit, soft tannins, and a nice balance of fresh earth. Finishes with vanilla. Excellent for the price and solid regardless.

Nose: Berry compote, vanilla, green bell pepper. Palate: Blackberry, stewed black cherry, vanilla, hint of green bell pepper in the finish. Medium+ body, bit of RS, medium- acidity, medium+ tannin. Decent table wine for the price. Not as lean and green as I like my Loire Cabernet Francs, …

Decanted for 45 minutes. Pale purple in the glass, prominent legs. On the nose, herbaceous with raspberry and dark cherry. On the palate, dry with medium-plus spicy acidity, tart cherry, wet gravel, dried herbs and blackberries. Medium chalky tannins. More acidity and tart cherries on the longish finish. Medium bodied, bold. Balance definitely leans toward the acidity. Had with some good food, but none of it went particularly well with the wine. Not much change to report on Day 2. …
