La Paulee NY. Plenty of ripe plums and vosnes spices, then displays good power, sneaky structure, for the very long term. Excellent for those who like full and ripe burgs.

La Paulee 2023 - Grand Tasting (New York) : Brief impressions at La Paulee. Intense sweetness. Long aftertaste. Very impressive and not rustic like what you'd expect NSG. Definitely in the Meo opulent style, at least based on what I have been learning. No formal score as was a bit tight but probably in the range of 92-94 once it puts on more weight.

2023 La Paulee Grand Tasting of 2020 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York) : Ruby. Earthy aromas. Sweet dark fruit, outstanding acidity, drying tannins, some soil at the end. Terrific.

My colleagues and I have just had a long period of tasting the 2020 Burgundy wines. It is no surprise to anyone to tell you that this is an extraordinary vintage, especially for the reds. I'm not just talking about quality but about the extremely rare fact that there is at the same time great concentration, great power and great freshness. Comparable perhaps to 2005? 1990? 1959?
