Medium bodied, more of an old world style. Well made, very smooth.

The bouquet is expressive, with pepper, licorice, and spice decorating the core of black fruit. On the medium-bodied palate, dark chocolate and earthy notes round things out. The balance feels unresolved, the fruit and structure feels a bit lost. Pour sampled at LCBO

Good full body, needs a couple more years to be smoother.

Smoky, flint, and blackberry nose with notes of pepper and beef jus. Ripe and glossy palate with supple tannins and high acidity dominating the finish. 3.5/5

Agree with earlier comment regarding pairing with meat. Opened for a group watching basketball. All good wine enthusiasts. Did not stand well alone. Pair with bbq, charred oe spicy red meat and I think it would be much better.

Nose of sweet fruit with a bit of musty, funkiness that's very catching. Body is sweet adjacent with dark fruit and salted caramel notes, no tannin, but some depth with leather and woody essence. Somehow very savory and almost meaty hints as well. Stood up to meat and cheese well.

Reticent, muted, no lift, trace of fruit, trace of tannin, nothing obviously wrong, just an unmemorable wine. Better Shiraz are available at this price point.

This had some nice qualities, but was ultimately disappointing for me, even for $25 or so. Not only is it another extremely reduced screwcap wine (having worse and worse luck with this recently), but it just never felt harmonious to me- it's "balanced" but not in the elegant way, more like an attempt at balancing a shaky Jenga tower where the pieces aren't quite fitting. TONS of spiky reduction all over the nose at opening. Rubbery, matchstick, sharp peppery tones, …

Probably should have brought this down in temp. Didn't leave much of an impression tbh.

Dark red core with a thinning hue. Aerated into the glass. Medium aroma, cedar, ash, pepper, blackberry, touch of varnish to finish. Full body, smooth, well integrated tannin, fresh acidity. Milk chocolate, blackberry, cherry, asparagus to finish. For some reason I was hesitant with this wine, expected a lighter body for Adelaide hills. Turned out quite nice, still very young though, would expect it to improve over the next 5 years. Too early to predict how it’s going to finish. …

Very dark in colour, clear to light crimson hue. Medium aroma of freshly cut pine, spice, pepper, black fruit. Intense in its way but not full. Plum, creamy chocolate, olive, some eucalyptus not not too strong. Medium tannin, will require some time to more fully integrate, a bit granular at the moment. Medium to full body, balanced acidity. Certainly requires some airing, was a bit bitter when first opened. I would suggest a couple of years before it gets serious.

For such a young wine the flavour drops away very quickly. Lacks depth. Very disappointing.
