This might be a wine that could live forever. At 17 years of age, somehow still very fresh and bright acidity (without being overpowering). The finish is incredibly long, with some hint of caramel popcorn at the end (perhaps a sign of non primary flavors to come). drank at racines. poured alongside 2008 Heintz. the tributary showed some typical exotic fruit notes. was a bit diffuse on the back half of palate next to the Heinz, which was more focused.

A little flabby, this one struck me this time. Served it to a friend who hates "big buttery Cali Chard", promising this would not be that . . . but it sort of was. Seemed fairly pedestrian for this producer. I see from my previous note that I liked this a lot more first time around.
