Domaine Bernard-Bonin Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes-Dessus

Already opened by the time we got to our host's place. Oh, this bottle was so much better than the previous one we had during the Charmes-Chambertin theme'd dinner. Bouquet was very attractive, with cream, chalk, white-flowers/fruits. This still had some oak on the palate, but was definitely more controlled/restrained (w/ tautness & tension) than the previous bottle (that was flabby), nicely balance with minerality/acidity too. Overall, a very enjoyable bottle.

Burgundy and Champagne with Franska Vinlistan (Grappe, Stockholm) : The nose indicates classical better white Burgundy with oak and it has the nose a premier cru should have. I find ripe citrus, yellow apple, yellow plum, mineral, oak (with hints of the actual wood, i.e., some oak board), strong perfume notes and aromatic oil; a big nose. Concentrated on the palate, full bodied-, noticeable mineral with chalk and gravel, slightly "earthy" bitterness, spice, high acidity and a long mineral aftertaste. …

Burgundy 2012 Day 4: Visit to Domaine Bernard-Bonin (Meursault) : This was pretty good, although not a huge step up from the pair of well-made Meursault village wines that preceded it. The nose was rather deeper and more interesing, with aromas of fleshy white fruit and white flowers, a layer of cream and a nice streak of flinty mineral.
