Rich, ripe apple with a dash of caramel, bread crust, slightly green nuts. Moderately complex, balanced, satisfying.

Enjoyed this bottle with a home made chicken paella. Very nice and good value for a 2012.

Beautiful nose absolutely loaded with yeasty autolysis aromas, baked bread and roasted tree nuts. Quince and Bosc pear. Medium-bodied but rich in flavor. Again, just loaded for bear. Everything the nose has in spades with a long, intense finish. Truly exceptional. Drink now-2027. 93.

Lovely cava a step up from Imperial with real depth

65% Xarel·lo, 35% Macabeo, organic and biodynamic. Green apple, lemon, celery/fennel, Mediterranean scrub, earth, hazelnuts and surprisingly moderate toasted brioche, considering the 70 months on the lees. Dry, with less than 3 g/L RS, med (+) acidity and med alcohol. The unexpected youthfulness continues on the palate, which is very clean and relatively fresh. Med (+) flavor intensity and length. Sorry, but I’m now giving up trying to be impressed by a cava/Spanish sparkling. Rated 97p in decanters wine contest. Sure there is some complexity but overall it’s thin and neutral. Expected more.

Very good smell , color and bubbles. Amazing taste. Great value. Will buy again.

Grandes Pagos de España - Trade Masterclass (Straits Clan) : Pale lemon, with a starlight brilliance, and fine beads. Pronounced nose with white flower and roasty hazelnut aromas, as well as brioche. Acidic, with intense white floral and hazelnut flavours, and slight toffee and butterscotch. The roasty nutty notes persisted for quite a bit. A complex, quality sparkler!

Two very consistent bottles. Apply and off dry. Very good but not as penetrating, dry, and yeasty as the vintage 2007 Batlle we had the other night.
