Château de Chausse Côtes de Provence Vendanges Manuelles

Interesting how these bottles vary. This one was certainly delicious and enjoyed outside, which often increases the pleasure of a rose for me. There was an intensity on the last bottle that was slightly lacking here though, more strawberry perfume, than wild strawberry flowers. Fewer tartrate crystals mean that acidic edge probably held back some of the more opulent notes here. Still my favourites rose for the price.

This has exploded into something wonderful. Wild strawberries along with sweet red onion and something almost faintly balsamic. Elegant, pure, floral and mineral notes on the finish. Delicious on its own but a true star with smoked fish.

Still a favourite rose of mine. Faint floral notes of violets, hibiscus, with a soft strawberry essence and wonderful minerality. Pure flavours, fresh and cleansing mouthfeel, and a very layered palate. This wine finishes with good length. Delicious.

One of my favourite roses. Prefer a little bottle age on these, but still lovely drinking young. Wild strawberries, faint scent of violets, mouthwatering acidity. Perfect as an aperitif or with smoked salmon. Excellent PQR. The wines from this house are always excellent.
