Colored like a pinot, maybe a hint ruddy. Smells like liquered cherries, with a hint of leather and burlap? Lighter on the palate, with cherry, menthol and tea coming through. A little baking spice, like clove and cinnamon on the finish. Light tannin, almost non-existent. Really interesting.

Agreed with those who say it's somewhere between a Pinot Noir and a Beaujolais. Very tasty.

Liked the wine and found it more "serious" than previous reviewers. Pretty garnet colored with berry nose it is somewhat "thin," as others have noted. That said, it is full flavored. The reviewer who called it a cross between a Beaujolais and a Burgundy (Pinot Noir) got it right...

Brink0199 is spot on here. Just a ton of fun. Slight effervescence but in no way cloying or sweet. Dry and brawny. Great a little chilled.

A joy to drink... absolute Saumur meets Beaujolais. Light and refreshing, a little flower here, a little herb there, though all in all little to contemplate. Fun body. I'll take this over most $13 domestic (U.S.) sippers.

Really unique... this actually tastes like campari to me. At first it was off putting, but started to enjoy it later. If you like campari, give it a go.

Made from ultra rare mutation of Piquepoul, Piquepoul Noir I think this is the only grower who makes a varietal version. They also do a rose Smells like grape juice with grassy note Tastes like a very juicy and simple gamay but with a citric edge Clean, very short, touch dilute at the end Enjoyable when lightly chilled. One to drink young
