Decanter Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark, London) : Plummy, violets, muted blackcurrant, savoury meaty notes. Juicy, lean and tight, slightly out of whack though. Hmm.

My last of the 3rd growth Grand Cru Classe wines - just so I can say I’ve done them all (and majority are also Margaux). Nose - I got cedar, a bit of violets, blue/purple fruits and a bit of tobacco. Mouthfeel was quite pleasant with good balance, acidity, well-integrated tannins and a modest 13% alc/vol (which seems a rarity these days!). Twenty Years On Wines, Some Luxury at Home; 4/19/2024-5/9/2024 (Alicante y Madrid - España) : By the glass. Declassified as Margaux wine, it is actually an adjacent Haut-Medoc plot, although still under the umbrella of the Lurton family. A blend of 65% CS and 35% Merlot. 2019 Bordeaux Tasting, MW tasting (Vintner's Hall, London) : 50% CS 45% Mer 5% PV, 13% Very fresh and forward, fruity, licorice, black fruit, pyrazine notes, elegant, ethereal, welcoming Palate is shy, juicy tannins, fresh red and black fruit, coffee, earthy notes, there is a strange "brine-like" texture here, spicy finish. Beautiful bouquet of pure earth and flowers. The nose on this wine is already showing the terroir of the region. The wine is vey good and balanced, but the finish is clipped compared to what the nose delivers. A great example of Bordeaux at a steal price. Dinner party wine, ready to go. Drink or Hold

The wine is soft-textured, medium-bodied, elegant and fresh, with a nice sweetness to the fruits that are on display in the silky, refined finish. The endnote offers additional complexities with its cool, minty edge. Drink from 2024-2040.
