Robert Denogent, Pouilly-Fuisse, Reisses

Wonderful citrus/pineapple nose. Lush feel set off by excellent acidity. Very nice wine.

Fresh and lovely, with the oak treatment leading the way at first, but by the second glass the fruit begins to open up revealing saline, orchard fruits, crunchy minerals and laser like focus. I am not a buyer at the recommended $42 price, but this is an outstanding drink (a Kermit Lynch wine) around $25 or so. A solid life ahead of it, might even benefit from splash decant for aeration if drinking soon. Drink thru 2016, 13,5% abv.

Very Chassagne like nose. Musty, creamy, brown butter, nutty, toasty. Definitely some new oak on this but it is not overbearing. Good mid-palate acidity to counter the creamy mouthfeel. Apple core, peach, tangerine. Pretty dry finish. Lovely. Another Robert Denogent gem that drinks like Pouilly's much heralded northern neighbors.
