Ostatu, Crianza, Rioja

This one just didn’t come together for me, it was quite unpleasant. It feels too dark and alcoholic, and while there’s some plum fruit, it gets buried under the heat. A bit of fresh plum peeks through, but it’s quickly overshadowed by rough, unbalanced spice, some roasted notes, and an unpleasant streak of green licorice on the finish. Nothing here feels elegant or harmonious — more like the pieces don’t quite fit together.

Robe violine intense, larmes colorées, jeune. Nez fermé au premier contact, puis s'ouvrant sur la prune noire, le quetsche cuit, avec une touche de vanille. 14° d'alcool, tannins serrés en attaque mais curieusement un corps moyen en milieu et fin de bouche, il donne une impression de fluidité. Mariage avec un agneau de lait.

on the nose, sulphur, light mushroom, bit of alcohol. slightly grippy tannins otherwise smooth. berry forward, raspberries, lighter fruits. nice wine.

Complex nose with blackberry, violet, spice and alcohol. Red berries and oak on the palate with a mid length finish. Tasty stuff and a good QPR. Rioja wines continue to amaze me with their depth and character at a very reasonable price.

This is a bad wine. A nose of cherry and spice followed by a mouthful of fruity, medicinal garbage. Ugh! No mid palate which might be a blessing. This is a dumper.
