CWG Auction Event Tasting 2022 (Westin Hotel, Cape Town) : Mid-crimson-ruby in colour. An earthy opening is alleviated by ripe blackberries, raspberries and light spice, all complemented by a dusting of white pepper. Fleshy and ripe, with good mid-palate breadth, the wine flows seamlessly between blackberry compote and raspberry ripple, nicely spiced and with a smooth texture and lively acidity. The tannins are well-managed, giving the wine a long, elegant finish with a hint of earthiness and complexity.
