Dark red fruit with, herbs and bright spice notes are in complete balance. At age nine, this wine is in great shape. Wonderful depth and texture. Good juice.

Red fruit, notes earthiness and wild spice perform elegantly in this medium weight Pinot Noir. Well balanced and enjoyable. Everything seems to be in the right place. Good juce.

Drinking very well. More minerality and earthiness than in most CA PN’s, and decent acidity - makes me wonder if I should have cellared this for a few more yrs? At the same time, delicious red fruit and sunshine. In any case, very enjoyable now... but cannot help but wonder what this will be like in 2 more yrs (I have had somewhat limited success cellaring CA PNs past 7-8 yrs; only Calera, Kalin, Copain, Rhys and Hanzell come to …

Really enjoyable - albeit still young. Balanced and harmonious, especially on the palate. Fruit, tea, tobacco, good acidity. Alcohol and oak in check and not in the way. Will revisit in 3 more yrs.

My wife said "smoke and tobacco", I said "corked"! It was enjoyable nonetheless. It was nothing like the 2010 vintage, to which I gave a mid 90 score. And not reminiscent of the rich P&H style...this was lightweight. Hard to draw any conclusions about this vintage from this bottle. Wish I could be of more help!

A good cool climate pinot. Higher acid, lower alcohol, not that over the top pinot nose/palate that some Napa pinots can give you.

This is the real thing. A cool climate, vineyard designate Pinot Noir from the Sonoma coast. At $75 on the winery website, there is easily the concentration, intensity and layers of flavors to command that kind of price. The color is barely moderately dark. The nose gives a nice indication of the complexity to follow with all kinds of neat things like spice, vanilla, smoke, mushroom farm, lavender, roses, oak and lively cherry and raspberry fruit. The palate has more …

Second bottle opened thanksgiving dinner. Very smooth but got lost in the food. Might be a nicer wine to drink on its own.

The most burgundian of the Pinots we tried at Patz & Hall. Gorgeous nose, highly floral. Very elegant and light bodied, but at the same time displaying a beautiful balance between fruit, earthiness and acidity.

PnP. Bright, slightly translucent ruby color, lighter side of medium body texture. Very aromatic, and quite tasty with spicy cherry, wild raspberry, juicy strawberry, with an underlying streak of stony minerality and mulchy earth. Nicely complex and great balance. Very long finish. Wonderful accompaniment to a variety of foods over a three day period.

Astringent. Not particularly complex. Disappointing, given the cost.

Give it a year or two to fully integrate. Drinks well enough now, but potential is better.

Not sure if we had the Burnside Vineyard, but this Pinot Noir was excellent. Consumed at Bridges Restaurant in Danville (recommended by the waiter). Very balanced wine; cherry and plum scents plus some intrigue. Fair price even with the markup.

Tasted at winery and then enjoyed with smoked beer can chicken in a 750ml after leaving the winery. Unlike Robert Pavlovich, I didn't have the privilege of enjoying this with the winemaker, but I can tell you that in spite of a tough 2011 vintage P&H did an outstanding job with this wine! There are lots if steps in the wine making process, and Pinot Noir is often difficult. Great job to the P&H team, really a great effort.

From a blind pinot tasting Ruby red. Cherry cola, rose petal. Soft palate, black cherry, white pepper, black raspberry, pomegranate, touch of leather. Tied for my #3 Groups #2

Muted nose. Beautiful, moderate, and refined texture. Nice freshness and richness to the blue and dark red fruit. Good length and grace to the finish. Very enjoyable, and in more of a Burgundian style, but not without some new world flair. 12.6% ABV. Had the pleasure to taste this with the winemaker, James Hall. James mentioned this was a rather late ripening site, and tends to be savory, dark, complex, soy, lots of bass notes. As to the winemaking, there's …
