Gitton Père et Fils Coteaux du Giennois de la Vigne du Taureau

Nice QPR. Sort of chocolately; was sold as a Pinot but I see a note calling it a Gamay blend and I believe that, has some of those fruity notes. But mostly seems like a pinot. Pretty fresh and alive, tart, with solid backbone. Ann really likes it.

This drank really nicely for an affordable PN blend after the last bottle we had which was corked, so nicely in fact that I'd willingly "enter the lottery" again of taking the risk of possibly getting another corked bottle. Probably part of the reason why it is so reasonably priced tho as drinking very nicely now. Excellent match for roast turkey.

Bottle corked. definite cork smell on opening then musty/mould smell and wine fairly flat/acidic in flavour.... Traditional style cork, which showed little sign of wine absorption and looked like it had been (re?)bottled fairly recently for 2005 vintage.

Good, quite robust PN/Gamay blend. Perhaps a touch flat and a little too much sign of wood but a good affordable wine if you're looking for a fair everyday drinking wine from this part of France but outside the better known AOCs. Still seems to have some life in it despite the 2005 vintage.
