Le Clos des Fees, Cotes du Roussillon-Villages

Late night at Maison Dakota. Pop and poured. Drank over 45+mins. Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Long legs. Nose is not toally clean, with atouch of barnyard earth, and then aromas of tar, graphite, black cherries, blackberries, black olives. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol (15%), grippy high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of tobacco, graphite, tar, black cherries, blackberries, dark peppery spices, black olives, savoury meat …

Lovely fruit nose with complex layers that keeps getting better over time. Long finish as well!

Very nice and actually quite elegant. Scent of blood, leather and herbs. The alcohol is not to obvious.

Second bottle on NYE! Really like the fruitiness but strong bodied flavour. Silky tannins with chocolate flavours. Strong finish! Will drink better in 1-3yrs!

Location: Uzes, South of France. Opened 4 hours before. Bought at auction. Nearly black coloured. On the nose very alcoholic, heavy and sluggish. I do not get a lot here. Tastes as bouquet suggested. Reminds me most of the wines from the South of France. Difficult to tame in their youth, but some may become gems in their best age. Roussillon 2016 (Roussillon) : 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% of Carignan and 10% Mourvedre full-bodied, layered and fantastically concentrated profile on the palate. Despite all of the richness here, it stays lively and fresh, with integrated acidity and sound underlying structure.

Explosion of flavours and wonderful structure. To be opened long before to get all in.

DHWine tasting. A lovely wine, good with many foods (tasted with pâté/bread, cheeses and cured sausage).

Deep ruby core, medium ruby rim. Imposing nose of dark fruit, roast meat, smoke, spices, etc. On the palate, medium plus finish with notes of dark chocolate, coffee ground. Medium acidity, full bodied, with ample of fruit. Finish is medium plus. Tannins supple and ripe. I'm not too familiar with the track record of this particular wine. I have a feeling it might not be built for the long haul. But it's complex and intense, and drinking really well now. …

just tasted it and it was well balanced lots of spice still yet too young lot of tannins and acidity. Never ending finish

A private lunch (Restaurant Aubrac Corner, 37 Rue Marbeuf, Paris) : Wonderfully smooth and aromatic, sweet ripe black fruit and spicy depth, clearly a wine from the grand south but in a very seamless style, without even the slightest rusticity, modern perhaps with its finish of glossy new oak but this is respectfully done and leaves the wine with a clear sense of place. Drinking very well now.
