This was too sweet for me; overwhelmingly grapefruit, a little bubbly;

This wine is subtle, intellectual and maybe even European, not mind blowing or sensual. President Trump will hate it.

And with some weight in the mid-palate. Super interesting, super starched out. For an "Amber" wine they really hit it out of the park. Great texture and really peppery. Above average quality, above average in value at $30.

Good enough but not my cup of tea. WFoods charging a premium. M liked it though. Nearly colorless. Balanced but IMHO boring.

2025-05-18 Cave de l'Est Overzichtsproeverij (Cave de l'Est) : A very well-made and balanced wine. Lots of fresh and ripe fruits: green apple, grapefruit. Good acidity and decent finish, a QPR wine for sure!

Salty and mineral and focused. Crisp and clean, focused, tight and mineral.

Pale straw, pleasant Grner Veltliner with apple, white peach, gooseberry. Dry with a lovely sweet rim like a Feinherb, refined acidity, balanced, medium body and only 12% abv. Good length with lingering finish. Excellent QPR, great entry level GV.

Austrian Wine Week Trade tasting (Cooper's Hall, Portland OR) : The nose is balanced and forward with tones of peaches, white fruits, white flowers, green apples, and pears. This lacks depth and much definition past it being a fresh, white wine. The Medium bodied feel is fresh, but lacking on the mid-palate with crisp, medium+ acidity. This is a bit straightforward and non-descript.

Good btg choice - characteristic bitter kick at the end, good acidity.

Nose is quite Gruner: lime, lanolin, white pepper. Palate is a bit light on acid but has good flavor. Simple, still quite delicious, but maybe just a bit over the hill.

Enjoyable wine. Lot of lime and lemon on the nose and palette. Slightly herbaceous. Good acidity and decent length on the finish. Would suggest drinking up though I can imagine this wine can handle a couple more years in bottle. Purchased from a local retailer and continuously stored at 55F. Chilled in the fridge before opening.

Creamy and smooth, balanced acidity, citrus, lemongrass, spices, peach and vanilla create a wonderfully complex, yet easygoing wine. Excellent start to finish. Phenomenal value

Pale yellow. Green apple, lots of mineral, and grass on the nose. Dry with a long peppery aftertaste. A great food wine.

Pleasant Gruner. A more fleshy style with less citrus and more pepper and mineral. Well made though my personal preference may lie on the other end of the spectrum. Made a top 100 list this year (I think WE?).

Not many green markers here. Has aromas of minerally limes, lemons and other white stonefruits, light grassiness. Its medium bodied nicely fleshy white fruits and minerals palate has nice acidity. Ends mediumish, grassy stony and fresh. 11.5%.

Had the wine in Zalto Burgundy which was the best. The wine is fresh and has notes of pepper on the nose as well as lime and citrus notes. On the palate the wine is fresh with peppery notes , and some fresh minerality. Its an okay wine....not sure how it will do if cellared for 1 year !!

The wine is pleasant, smooth and fruity. It was surprisingly low in acidity, and it revealed surprisingly little white pepper aromas and flavors to be a Grüner Veltliner wine.

Green and crispy on the nose. And with a just so slight twinge of sweet fruit on the front of the palate. In a good way. Then ends with a sour apple minerality. Tasty.

Bernhard Ott’s basic Grüner Veltliner, from vineyards “am Berg” where the loess is slightly deeper and from flatter vineyards around Feuersbrunn, both estate and bought-in grapes, 11.5% ABV. Spicy and slightly earthy style, ripe yellow fruits, apple and citrus, uncomplicated but elegant, supple and juicy, hint of white pepper, well-balanced, decent length. Nice everyday Grüner.

With air, green herbs and lemon on the taut and focused nose, and a creamy lactic sense on the palate, which brings nice balance to the acidity. As usual, lovely and understated and very pure wine.

I've had great luck with Bernhard Ott's gruner veltliner before. The upper end have been great. The lower end was a good value. But I didn't have much luck with this wine. It was light, so it was a good wine for a hot summer night. Citrus on the nose and palate, and maybe some white fruit on the palate. Short finish. A Valley View Wines import.

Was not able to give it a proper decant. Very nice body and depth for a GV. Was not that impressed and wondered whether I didn't get the wine an adequate shot or not.

Citrus, apples and steely minerals on the nose and palate. Gains a bit of weight and complexity with airtime. Firm, fresh and balanced; everything we wanted in a $15 Grüner, and more. Highly recommended at this price-point. Drink thru 2013, 11,5% abv, score: A-
