a straight forward red with not a lot of complexity. It drinks really well right out of the bottle but don't count on any improvement.

Very elegant Napa valley red. At first the wine was smelling very "animal" but it came around after a couple of hours of breathing. The fruit is dominated by the red fruits, cherry and red currants, the syrah definitely leaves its mark with some black pepper hints. The style is leaner than one would expect from this area. The integration is complete, drink now or 1 to 2 years from now.

What a pleasant surprise! Fruity with a slight flowery/cedar ocean breeze slightly sweet (like a potato baking) nose. Smooth in the mouth with a nice blend of flavors and a subtle finish. I was surprised because I did not detect any harshness or alcohol flavors as mentioned in other notes. Could be this wine needed a little more time but I don't think it can improve much so I will put this one at the top of my to do …

Decent, but slightly harsh. Would not buy again.

Very fruit forward initially, but much more balanced following a little aeration. Surprisingly, it did not pair well with steak - the fruit disappeared and the alcohol became overwhelming. Much better on its own without the food, at least for this meal.

Rather big in the mouth, tannins a bit rough. Not bad now; might improve with age but hard to tell. An interesting effort.

This wine is mediocre at best and I haven't had a flawed bottle. But I am sure it will make a good cooking wine.

Not my favorite - the nose is nice, elegant, with strawberry. The mouthfeel however is unruly, with a subtle but biting acidity. Not quite sure how this wine gets such good reviews at the Wine Enthusiast or Expovina.

CMN and all 2013 notes below are spot on! The Syrah shines through! What a blend'. Bodega Mateo PCB FL will serve this!

Semi translucent garnet with ruby rim; spicy red licorice, dark fruit, tree bark, cinnamon, perfumed and floral notes; med+ body, soft tannins initially that slowly build, good energy, lingering red currant and cherry finish; good QPR.

9th Annual Uncork Barrington Tasting (Barrington Metra Lot) : Aromas of ash, incense and cassis. Vanilla, spice, cassis and black fruit flavors. Finishes nicely with good spice and dark fruit. Structured.

A blend of Cabernet (70%), Syrah (20%) plus some Primitivo and Petit Verdot. A moderately big, juicy, forward wine with admirable complexity. Soft mourhfeel. Cherries, blackberry, black pepper, a hint of green, and a short boysenberry finish. Good QPR and easy drinking. Drink now.

Classic dark fruit and a nice vegetal character. You can also detect the meatiness of the Syrah that is blended in.
