Duncan Peak Petite Sirah

Nose: green peppers and black licorice Taste: Sour red cherries, dirt, black crude oil Good, not as good as when first tasted in 2009 though.

This wine has changed a lot in the year since I last tasted it. The fruit flavors are much less well defined into a sort of gustatory smear. Vanilla is still noticable, and the wine is smoother. Not bad, but I'd say it has one foot out its drinking window, getting ready to jump.

Deep purple, almost black. Cranberry and vanilla nose with black cherry, vanilla palate followed by a long tart finish that rounds out with some hints of blackberry.

Good QPR at $8. Plum and other dark fruit flavors with a streak of violets. Unlike most cheap petite syrahs this one isn't too sweet or raisiny. Can't say I love it but at this price would buy again.

Nothing stands out with this wine. Pass. Paid $15 - QPR would be good at the $7 price point.

Pretty decent; dark red with nicely integrated earth, mushroom, roasted meat and dark fruit flavors.
