Another beauty from Epocn. A rich lush wine with dark fruit and chocolate notes. Smooth and siky tannins. Beautifully made and deeply interesting.

Wine is in a great place, maturing nicely with tannins fine grained, fruit on the nose and palate. A little heat on the finish. Has some time left but why wait.

A bit clunky. Not a big fan of the blend of grapes (perhaps I'm biased by the label). Very rich and dense; not my preferred style for syrah. Nose of dark berry and tobacco, leather. Nice mouth coating and finish. I wanted a blend like this to be good for gourmet burgers... but would have paired better with steak. Perhaps, a compliment will be "drinks like a california cab"...

Inky, staining purple color, with a vibrant palette of black cherry and dark berry compote. Structured and resolved, with grip, balance, and finesse. Outstanding, mature Syrah blend from a superb producer, drinking in peak form. A genuinely wonderful wine.

So so smooth... decanted at least 1h. No tannins and perfect balance with the right acidity and fruit flavors. Very good!

A number is just my opinion as is this review. Drinking very well. Even at 16.1% it wasn't hot. The years have served it well. Paired with bbq flatiron off the grilled and asparagus. It worked well.

Same notes as my last ones. We paired this with 2007 Saxum James Berry and it held it's own. This is just a gorgeous bottle of wine in a perfect place. Completely seamless, rich wonderful fruit, We all loved it.

Blow out fabulous wine in a perfect place. Rich and seductive deep black fruits and perfect balance. The nose was intoxicating. This was an Easter wine that blew everyone away. No notes but I can't wait to drink the next bottle.

Thick, rich, and inky wine. Blackberry, wild berry, and plums dominate the fruit profile with a solid core of black licorice, spice, earth, cedar, and sage. Vibrant acidity, chewy tannins (still) on the finish after almost 10 years. No doubt the high alcohol content shows up front but does blow off over time.

Slow oxed 2 hours, worked fine and drank over next 2+ hours. Great, big, new world, macerated, oaky, vanilla flavor bomb. Drank without food. Reminded me of the style of the divisive '12 and '13 Caymus CS's, of which I'm not a fan, but this was not quite as manufactured. I'm not sure where I stand on this one though as I like Epoch's. Last bottle and cannot help but think I am drinking this in a really sweet spot. I am sure it will age gracefully for at least another 5 years, but it is definitely in a prime window where the fruit is beautiful and the tannins have softened form their youth. Worth exploring this blackberry-jam beauty.

Delicious and well balanced. Nice mouthfeel of dark fruit mid palate, finishing with black pepper spice. Very nicely structured wine.

Dark purple and inky. Nose was somewhat overpowered by the alcohol day one, but subsequent days was able to pick up cherry and raspberry notes. Dark berry and plumb flavors with a nice smooth finish. Medium bodied with mouth drying tannins. May mellow out more with another year or two, but drinking well now with great balance. Alcohol/heat just a tad higher than what I would consider perfectly balanced right now.

I have a not so good run on Epoch wines with a few years of age on them lately. This one came through in the clutch though!! Tertiary flavors starting to come through along with the fruit. Really in a good spot. Decanted for a little bit over an hour and drank over another 2. Good now but has 5-8 years if you like more age on them

I've always loved this wine however it's now showing more complexity and even better than previous bottles. Masterful blending for sure. I've consumed 7 bottles of this wine and enjoyed them all. Wish I had a few more left since this wine is sure to age well for at least 5 more years.
