Dry Riesling from Rheingau. Unusual and experimental style: matured in German Pfälzer oak. Color still healthy with a light golden tone. Nose is mature and full. Oaky vanilla, lots of petrol, mint, dry herbs and yellow stone fruit. Still fresh. Palate is heavy and creamy. Again oak. A little bit of "Burgundian" minerality. Dense fruit. 24 months in new Oak. Full MLF. You have been warned. Nose of orange peel, Fanta (!), crushed herbs and spiced oak. Palate is oak heavy, Jersey Caramel too, sweet citrus, spices, lees and yeasty notes. Didn't know what to make of this wine....
