13% alcohol. Screwcap. Pale translucent colour with further thinning at the rim. Very aromatic high-pitched nose of redcurrant and cranberry, half way between Pinot and Gamay. The mouth is similarly red fruited, and with impressive purity, but I detect an amylic note (which in fact was already on the nose). Very fresh and pretty un-evolved. Very substantial acidity. Had this just after Delaporte's red Sancerre C-d-Beaujeu, and the present wine is even more remote from the Burgundy style. Not a …

13% alcohol. Screwcap. Lovely label combining vine leaves, fern and a feather. Light colour, normal for Pinot. The nose is refined, evoking mixed red berries. No sign of oak. The mouth is better still, with raspberry and excellent acidity in the finish. Good mouthfeel too. A complete and rounded rendition of the noble Pinot grape; hats off to our antipodal brothers.
