Opened and decanted 30-min ahead of savory pork and rice gravy dinner. Took about 90-min to fully open up. Murky purple color with a violet hue. Nose brings powerful black currant, creme de cassis, blackberries, and savory herbs. The palate is full, round, dense, and compact, delivering more blackberries, chocolate raspberries, coffee bean, hints of tobacco, cedar wood, and cherry cobbler baking spices. The finish brings refined tannins balanced against a nice, supple acidity. Drink now through 2025.
