Medium body, ruby color, fast legs. Aroma of pine, eucalyptus, dark cherries, menthol and hint of vanilla. Taste of fresh raspberries, ripe cherries, light oak.

Through the vinturi into the decanter, left for 1/2 hour. In the glass: Deep garnet, orange edge, nice long legs. On the nose: Initial hit of hot liquorice, spice, currants, whiff of yogurt. In the mouth: Medium mouth feel, tart cherries on the tongue, some heat pokes through the squeaky tannins, a little tart on the finish. Meh, not bad but lacks some depth in the middle. I liked this wine quite a bit. Not overpowering and went well with dinner. Will buy a few more bottles and see if I still like it.

Utterly boring wine. Typical of Rutherford wines with a dust nose, some ripe plums and of course tobacco leaves. In the mouth it's flabby of mostly cedar notes and dried spices. I don't mind this type of wine but being in the Bay Area I blindly pick any bottle of the $20 rack and get this profile. MEH!

Deep, dark, purple color. Nothing distinctive on the nose or palate. A bit of heat. Nothing particularly wrong with it but nothing grabs my attention either. Poured through a venturi and drank over 3 hours. I'll see if it gets better on day 2.
