The wine has medium acidity. It smells like forest floor, violet, chocolate and raisin. The body is full. The wine finishes long. It tastes like fig, vanilla and black pepper. The wine has smooth texture.

Light colour with clear age band at rim. Nose sweet and savoury. Mouth more complex than expected. Plenty of tea and fruit and cough medicine but in a very light, restrained way. i don't mean weak, just... politely determined. I like the balance of this wine. At the price, I'd say it's right.

Drank in London We were stuck and so sent out a party to get wine. The only place available was Tesco's. I was initially very sceptical but it is produced with Giacomo one of the greatest names in Piedmont. This is a very decent Barolo for the price point and has all the classic notes and depth. Well done.

Initially sceptical about buying a Barolo from the 'top shelf' at Tesco. After a 30min decent though this started to show promise and went very well with barbecued chicken and lamb. No real length but to be expected. Not bad for £14, would buy again.
