North Willamette Vintner's Wine Trail Weekend; 4/10/2010-4/11/2010 : Some acids showing through on the nose, though quite soft... really tart and drying throughout but not much in the way of fruit or any real interesting characteristics. I actually preferr their second label, the Arcachon (made up of 2007 fruit), better than this...

Not much on the nose at first (a bit of funk, cherries, and whiff of alcohol) but it became more pronounced after an hour or so. Some cherry and slight vegetal flavors on the palate with a touch of tannin. A rather simple wine with subtle flavors and a short-medium length finish. If I had another bottle, I'd decant for an hour or so and drink up, as I doubt this will improve much in bottle. This is what passes …

Decanted 1/2 r. Purplish red, on the lighter side color wise. Lots of caramel on the nose, black cherry as it opened up throughout the evening, some mushroom as well. Taste is blackberries and earth, with a nice punch of acidity and lingering finish. Lighter body, a bit hot. Good value Oregon pinot.

Nice meaty nose, hard and sligtly green bitter palate. I don't even think it is worth $18.
