Superbe.

Really nice bottle of wine. Not complex, but classy and earthy and a bit rich. I am sure it is possible to find a better wine at this price, but there is nothing wrong with this one.

Simply stunning wine drinking at a perfect moment. Richer than i anticipated but beautifully balanced and the texture is evolving bringing breadth and luxury. Aromatics required little encouragement and its a pleasure to enjoy.

Opened as we sat down to dinner, first glass about 1 hour later. Much more developed color and earthy nose than I would have expected at this point. Has a sweet fruit component I've found in other 2000s recently, though a small sample size. Well developed, though if I had more I would move then into a drink over the next couple years pile as I don't think this has a long life left.

Wish I'd waited longer to open this! Far too young ag 11 years. Subtle, beguiling, austere, and probably more wonderful in, say, 5 years' time! Beat the pants off all the American PNs we tasted at the same time, but then it was worth several times most of them!

Cote des Nuits Tour (Red Slate Wine Co., Portland, OR) : Earth-driven nose and palate with flavors of mushroom, clay, pepper, mud with delicate flavors of cherry and raspberry shining through. Acidity is still brisk and has medium strength tannins. Nice balance, delicious over-all but not my favorite of the flight.

The wine starts out with scents of deep dark plums and nice acid, On the palate, the plums and acid appear as well as some spicy earth flavors. What strikes me most is that this wine is extremely delicate, and the flavors mentioned dance so gently together that the texture is interesting in and of itself. This could easily evolve into a spectacular wine as the flavors integrate more and the fruit becomes more prominent.
