Finally got around to trying some Lidl wines on a trip back east. Medium ruby red in color. $4.99 at Lidl. Nose is not as bad as I was expecting – Christmas spices, cherries, some black pepper, and a hint of smoke. Light bodied, medium acidity, dry, and lacking taste. Palate is underripe red cherries and cranberries. Light but very grippy tannin structure is present. Finishes off /sour cherry, light Jägermeister-like herbal, and a hint of black pepper. By cheap …
