Really interesting. Earlier notes still hold true, regarding nose and flavor profile, but more bottle time has added an fine level of depth and a fuller and longer palate--thus, what was previously a softening now has some staying power in a longer finish. ('creamy' was one word used a while back) Likewise the citrus/fruit/grassy/herbal notes evolve/morph and meld together in the mouth. I now get a bit more of the layered fruit previous reviewers described ('papaya'), though subtle it is. …

The flaw was I thought I bought a white 3 months ago but when I opened it I found it was rouge! Instead of deleting this and creating a new entry figured I'd leave a PSA to those not familiar with Sancerre rouge: Pinot Noir from here can be earthy, tasty stuff. Try it.

Popped, poured, Consumed over the following week. Started out as before; nice, solid Sancerre. Replaced cork, placed half empty bottle back in cellar for a week, poured again. Glorious! This has opened up, fleshed out, knit together beautifully and yet it continued to develop over the course of the evening, revealing nuance after nuance. Popped, poured, consumed over next two evenings. Nice, solid, dry, citrus and mineral driven Sancerre with a slightly bitter lemon rind note in the chalky saline finish.

Nice enough SB for the price. Wanted to open something light and refreshing to deal with the heat that finally showed up after the horrible spring. Not quite as vibrant and steely as I was hoping but generally fit the bill.

Same as before "Pale yellow. Lime apples and white flowers on the nose. Taut clean citrus on the palate balanced by a slightly creamy texture. This was absolutely delicious and wonderful at the table. For $20 Sancerre, it does it job beautifully. And just for the record, RjivAyyanger's note is pretty amazing. This shows an elegant nose of grapefruit, cut grass, smoke and wet stone that follow through on the bright, crisp and focused mineral driven palate that is bone dry and finishes with a nice citrus touch.

Served with grilled mackeral. Concur with recent notes. Would add with air time citrus/grapefruit/grassy notes soften and nice light herbal touch comes forward, acidity is well balanced and palate is clean, still grounded. Nice.

Sauvignon blanc is the one and only varietal that I tend to like more in New World wines than in Old World wines. In particular, New Zealand sauvignon blancs tends to have stronger green aromatics than French sauvignon blancs, while remaining lean and mean. This wine has a dense mineral core and tangy grapefruit. I like it okay, but it just doesn't appeal to me as much as the best New Zealand sauvignon blancs.

Lemon-yellow color; nose is aromatic, pyrazines, green vegetal, some phenolic bitterness, steely citrus fruit; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus to high acid, medium alcohol (13%?), crisp peas; medium to long finish. Sauvignon blanc with few differentials though location is more difficult: first could be New Zealand, likely not Californian, could be French. Excellent quality, good length. 90-92.

55F PnP medium light yellow. Big nose with tropical fruits - mango, banana, and a hint of grass. Moderate to strong acid, clean with hint of zing at midpalate and finish. Some gravela nd grass on the palate with background notes of green apple, pear. Medium long finish. Some complexities I can't describe well. Very nice and other than the fruit on the nose (moe new world) good expression of Sancerre.

color straw. nose shows everything you hope for in a sancerre. it has that dense grassy almost cat pee nose with substantial minerality. swishing shows cheek coating terse acid structure that leads to a saline tart finish. the acidity actually mellows a little bit as it warms. sipping lets the fruit show a little more but there is no hiding the acid on this one. brilliant example of sancerre. thanks mike!
